Welcome to Intensive Writing!

I’m Professor of the Practice in the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University in Washington DC and an advisor to Intensive Writing.   In my many years of teaching at the college level, I’ve read an enormous number of essays.   And I know the difficulty that students may have in writing organized, persuasive essays.

Writing ability does not come automatically for anyone.   Learning to write is not just rote learning; it takes practice.  Practice is what Intensive Writing offers and why I was eager to assist in starting this service.  Intensive Writing to be an inexpensive way for students to get extra writing practice -- together with writing instruction and feedback.   

Intensive Writing is geared specifically to preparation for the new SAT, of course.   This program can be taken in addition to general SAT prep courses, or by itself.  Either way, it gives students the writing practice and specialized instruction that are essential for earning a top score on the writing portion of the new test.
